The research group Car Technology College Charlemagne (KdG) developed the first car in Belgium where the driver can choose between running on hydrogen, natural gas or gasoline. The car has driven up till now on natural gas and gasoline and is now running on the third on fuel, hydrogen. Thus the driver can have optimal choice. On Monday, December 20th this car was presented to the press and participants had the opportunity test drive. For more information please contact: Kobe.Bertels@kdg.be.

The London Schools Hydrogen Challenge has been developed by the London Hydrogen Partnership. It is designed to support the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum for Science, ICT, Geography, Citizenship and PSHE. The Challenge guides students through the issues surrounding the need for cleaner, renewable energy and the role hydrogen plays in providing a vital source of clean energy for the future. The Challenge provides interactive online resources designed to engage students, and, just as importantly, make it easy for teachers to integrate activities into lesson plans. As students work their way through the series of activities they will learn more about the problems with non-renewable energy, the importance of sustainable development, sources of renewable energy and the role of hydrogen. Students selected for the Grand Final will take home great high tech prizes and the winning schools will receive cash prizes. Go to http://www.lshc.co.uk/secondary/about.asp for more info
