The Annual Hydrogen Workshop will be collaboratively held in cooperation with Pirkanmaa, Äetsä Hydrogen village project (Prizztech Oy) and Tekes national Fuel Cell Finland programme. Taking place in Hanasaari, Helsinki, Finland on Tue September 13 2011, the event aims to attract decision makers in the energy sector, end-users and the general public interested in new energy options, companies & research organizations interested in fuel cells.

Regional strategies and activities

FinHydrogen plan is named “Äetsä Hydrogen Village”. It has a background with Kemira Chemicals Oy Sodium Chlorate (NaClO3) factory in Äetsä village in South Westen Finland. Because of a high volume of hydrogen produced the village chp power plant has long been driven with hydrogen. Now we have a plan to enlarge the use of hydrogen to several pilot initiatives:- a 1 MW class Fuel Cell chp Power Plant parallel with the conventional 30 MW plant – Hydrogen Tanks Station to supply a light vechicle, a personal car and a working machine, fork lift to be presented as pioneers around the Sastamala mother community – a wind – hydrogen system to show an option for energy storage through hydrogen and fuel cell connected to a wind generator.  All these pilots will later serve as presentation material for a local Hydrogen Demo Center to be established at the Äetsä village.
